About me
Ilijana Kovrlija obtained her PhD in Engineering and Technology from Riga Technical University in 2024 and her Master’s degree in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology from the University of Belgrade in 2018. She has been a member of the Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering (IBB) since 2020, initially as a PhD candidate within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN programme – PREMUROSA, conducting her doctoral research under the supervision of Professors Dagnija Loča and Jānis Ločs. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher within the IBB. Ilijana has completed four scientific secondments at CAAD – University of Eastern Piedmont (Novara, Italy), CIRIMAT – University of Toulouse (Toulouse, France), and AALTO University (Helsinki, Finland). Her research interests include biomaterial synthesis, processing, and characterization, as well as the development of drug delivery systems.
