Māris is also an Associate Fellow at the Academy of International Affairs NRW in Bonn. Previously, he served as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, a Fellow at the Academy of International Affairs NRW in Bonn, Germany, and a Visiting Fulbright Scholar at Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, he was the Vice Rector of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences and a Senior Researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs.
