Markus Herrgård is the Chief Scientific Officer at the BioInnovation Institute (BII) in Copenhagen, where he leads scientific strategy and supports early-stage life science startups in translating cutting-edge research into impactful solutions. With a background in systems biology and biotechnology, Markus has extensive experience in academic research, biotech innovation, and entrepreneurship. Before joining BII, he held leadership roles at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability, where he focused on sustainable bioproduction and computational biology. His work bridges science and business, helping to accelerate the journey from lab to market.
